Soggy Dry Lake - January 16-18 (Rating 1-5) Great trip for all levels, from dry lake bed, dirt roads, sand dunes to
ROCKS. On Saturday morning, some Cruisers may be heading to the
famous Claw Hammer trail north of the Means Dry Lake and past the giant sand
dune. Those not inclined to damage, can watch the experts Crawl
the Rocks. Some members will be arriving on Friday night and camping on Soggy Dry Lake off
on the left or west side of Bessemer Mine Road. Camping will be approximately
one quarter to a half mile onto the lakebed. (Actual camping areas should be
approximately south/west edge of the dry lake.) CB Channel: #04. The Bessemer
Mine Road is rough, but motor home accessible, the camping area is dry, with no

Mojave Trail - February 13-16 (Rating 1) *Click here for Photos from the run* Our Mojave Trail run will
be from East to West with the
trip beginning near the Colorado River at the Avi Resort & Casino and
ending at Afton Canyon near Barstow. Some club members
will be camping or staying at the Avi Resort
& Casino on Thursday evening. Plan on a 10 A.M start Friday morning from the Avi Casino near the campground. Directions: take I-15 north to I-40 east towards Needles, exit at the River Road
Cutoff, which becomes Needles Hwy, north for 14 miles to Aha Macav Pkwy. Look for

9th Annual Surf N Turf - Pismo Beach, CA - November 5-7 (Rating 1-3) Many club members will be attending. Look for our camp on the outskirts of the main camp. Click here for more information on the event.
Truckhaven Hills - Salton Sea (Rating = 2-4) Thanksgiving Weekend overnight family trip; Base Camp, Day Runs. It's a great place to wheel wagons
as well as short wheel base trucks. If you're not familiar with Truckhaven
Hills, its about 30 miles south of the 10 freeway just across the
highway from the Salton Sea. Most club members show up on Friday but
occasionally some come earlier to claim a camping area. So start
thinking about it and join the fun. For more information please

Ratings 1-5 with 5 being the hardest. It is assumed you will bring
repair
tools with the knowledge to use them, Food & Water, Sleeping
Bag, Good
Hiking Shoes & Cold Weather Coat, Day Pack, and $100 cash just
in case.
The Ratings are the absolute minimum required to get through meaning
trucks
at the minimum level will have more difficulty, will get stuck, may
need to
be winched, and will be more entertaining.
1 = Stock Truck and No
Experience.
2 = Stock Truck with 2"
or more lift and Some Experience.
3 = Lightly Modified
Truck, 2" or more lift, One Rear Locker, Winch, Medium
Experience.
4 = Moderately Modified
Truck, 2" or more lift, One or more Lockers, Low
Gears, Winch, and 1 Ball.
5 = Highly Modified
Truck, Spring Over or equivalent, Locker Rear & Front, Low
Gears, Winch, and 2 Balls.

Vehicle Inspection Requirements
Vehicles registered for participation in a TLCA, or TLCA sanctioned,
event are subject to a 'Vehicle Inspection', And though TLCA makes no
representation as to the impact of such an inspection upon 'safe'
participation in an event, failure to pass such an inspection will
disqualify the vehicle from participating in the event.
All determinations pertaining to the 'Vehicle Inspection' shall be at
the sole judgement of the event committee, and/or its designates,
responsible for such inspections. If a vehicle fails to pass an
inspection, correction of any deficiencies may be attempted and the
vehicle reinspected... provided such correction and reinspection can be
conducted without impact to event schedules.
The following are minimum vehicle requirements which, if not met,
disqualify a vehicle from participating in an event:
Vehicle Registration: Must be
current.
Liability Insurance Coverage: Must
be current, and meet applicable governmental requirements.
Service Brakes: Must be able to
stall engine when idling in 2nd gear (1st gear if 3 speed).
Parking Brake: Must be able to
stall engine when idling in 3rd gear (2nd gear if 3 speed).
Brake Lights: Must be functioning
properly.
Tires: All tires, including spare,
must have at least 2/32" of tread. Spare tire must be fully inflated.
Air down to a maximum of 15 psi prior to safety inspection.
Roll Bar: Any open vehicle must
have a roll bar firmly attached to the vehicle.
Seat Belts: Required for driver
and each passenger.
Fire Extinguisher: Must show full
charge on gauge and/or have seal intact.
First Aid Kit: Recommended to be
as complete as is reasonably possible.
Antenna Length: Not longer than
54", unless both ends are firmly attached to the vehicle.
The following are evaluated items which, depending on severity and/or
quantity of deficiencies, may disqualify a vehicle from participating
in an event:
Headlights.
Running Lights.
Turn Signals.
Windshield: No dangerous cracks.
Wipers.
Horn.
Exhaust System: Must be intact. No
open exhaust, excessive noise or excessive smoke. Steering:
Check play in wheel, condition of column and mounting hardware, knuckle
arms. Hoses & Lines: Water, gas, brake
lines. (Please do not bring a vehicle with excessive leaks to an event.
Such leaks can be damaging to the environment.)
Vehicle Jack: Hi-Lift type
recommended.
Tow Strap, Tow Rope and/or Chain.
Winch.
The following are recommended items which TLCA encourages you to
consider:
CB Radio.
Tools.
Fan Belt, Radiator Water, Battery Cables.
Tire Gauge, Tire Pump, Tire Patch Kit.
Rags, Hand Cleaner, Litter Bags.
Axe, Shovel.
Flashlight, Spare Batteries, Spare Vehicle
